Creating SAEs

Student Help

Student Help is divided into two sections, Lessons, and Online Help. The Lessons are meant to be downloaded, printed, and used to help you learn to use the AET. Your Advisor may assign these lessons to you, or you may access them here and do them yourself. The Online Help provides detailed information and instructions for using each page or screen in the AET.

Lessons

Your first time in AET or just coming back?  Try this guide.

  • Students Getting Starting

All students should begin by completing the Profile, then proceed with this Lesson:

Managing breeding livestock operations can be a financial challange, but managing them correctly can create the most accurate view of your progress.  This guide will help you establish a breeding operation and manage animals being used in your projects.

A few students begin their SAE before their first day of Agscience classes. Those students will need to enter their Beginning Inventory. This Lesson will help those students.

Students with a Co-op SAE will find the following guide useful in managing their Co-op experience in the AET

Students with Entrepreneurial experiences who are entering records from several years, especially those who are transferring records from another recordkeeping system, will find this Lesson helpful.

After you've chosen a SAE type, use the Lesson below that best matches your SAE Type to manage recordkeeping for that SAE.

After you've set up your SAE(s), you will want to begin making Journal Entries. This Lesson will help you choose the right "type" of Journal Entry, and complete the process of entering your activities and hours into the AET.

Online Help

For students, the AET is organized into four parts. The student Profile, Journal entries, student Finances, and Reports. These four areas are apparent as soon as a student logs into the Student Home Page. Links to each of these four areas are available in the center of the page, as well as across the top. These links across the top (also called “Banner Navigation”) are available all the times while working in the AET. Use the links below to thoroughly explore these four parts of the Student AET.
